Bonnie Bowdern O'Keefe Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday February 14, 2013. Dearly beloved wife for 48 years of Michael D. O'Keefe; dearest mother of Colleen O'Keefe Gund (the late Vincent E. Gund) and Daniel M. O'Keefe (Jennifer Auer O'Keefe); dear grandmother of Edward M. and Thomas O'Keefe Gund, Michael D., Patrick H., Richard Wynn and Daniel M. O'Keefe; beloved daughter of the late Edward H. Bowdern, M.D. and Thelma Coyne Bowdern; dear sister of Edward H. Bowdern Jr.; dear aunt, cousin and a dear friend to many. Bonnie was a graduate of Academy of the Sacred Heart (City House) Class of 1958 and Saint Louis University, Class of 1962. She was active in the Villa Duchesne/City House Alumni Association and served as its President from 1982 to 1984. She was active in the Associated Alumni of the Sacred Heart, AASH, the National Sacred Heart Association where she served as Treasurer from 1985 to 1987. In 1984, she received the Tres Bien Award which is the highest honor bestowed by the Villa Duchesne/ City House Alumni Association. She was a true child of the Sacred Heart. Bonnie was the first honoree ever presented at the Fleur de Lis Ball. She was chairperson in 1987 of the Fleur de Lis Ball and president from 1995 to 1997 of the Fleur de Lis Association and an active sustaining member of the Fleur de Lis Association. She served as a trustee of the Missouri History Museum Association for 12 years and was a long time resident of the Central West End and active in numerous CWE Organizations. Her family would like to thank her pulmonary physician Subramanian Paranjothi, M.D. and her oncologist John W. Finnie, M.D. and their staffs for the excellent care given to her. Services: The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, 4431 Lindell at Newstead on Tuesday, February 19 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School, 801 South Spoede Rd., St. Louis, 63131. The family will receive friends at THE LUPTON CHAPEL, 7233 Delmar Blvd., University City on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A SERVICE OF THE LUPTON CHAPEL
